A quietly beautiful piece of American studio pottery, this hand-thrown covered bowl is signed by independent artist Pat Look. Made in the late 20th century, this is a regional studio work with the kind of considered, unhurried craftsmanship that defines the best of the American craft movement.

The glaze is a soft, shiny pale blue that gently reflects light across the rounded form. What makes this piece particularly distinctive is the intentional clay reveal. The natural-toned clay peeks through along the edge of the lid and the rim of the bowl, a deliberate design choice that creates a beautiful tension between the refined glaze and the raw material beneath. The lid fits well and features a graceful loop handle.
