Made in the 1970s, these heavy glass taper candle holders are a direct artifact of that era's industrial ingenuity. As pop art and bold interior design exploded onto the scene, glass factories faced an unexpected challenge: demand for vibrant colors like turquoise was outpacing the time it took to chemically reformulate massive molten glass furnaces. The solution was creative improvisation. The 1970s became the golden age of coating clear glass with lacquers to rapidly meet the design trend. Pieces like these are the result.
