This ceramic pitcher is crafted in the style of historic "Flow Blue" transferware, a famous manufacturing method popularized in the pottery districts of England during the late 19th century.  "Flow blue" allows the cobalt glaze to deliberately bleed into the white field during firing to create a soft, romantic halo effect.

The deeply saturated iris transfer pattern is highlighted with hand-applied gold sponge-gilding that traces the petals, foliage, handle, and scalloped rim. The contrast of rich indigo and bright gold makes it a statement piece for traditional or coastal rooms. 

Style it as a centerpiece vase, pair it with brass accents or blue-and-white porcelain on a shelf, or give it pride of place on open kitchen shelving or a dining sideboard.
