A true antique and a rare find, this is an original bookplate illustration of the Esquimaux Curlew (now known as the Eskimo Curlew) from A History of British Birds by Francis Orpen Morris, one of the most celebrated ornithological works of the Victorian era. Published in the mid-to-late 1800s, Morris’s volumes were renowned for their beautifully detailed hand-colored illustrations.
